Miller Buick GMC located on Route 1 North in Woodbridge NJ has been in business for over 56 years. It began in 1955 when C. Gordon Miller purchased the Pontiac Cadillac dealership on the corner of West Milton and St. Georges Avenues in Rahway that had been there since 1921. Mr. Miller had worked for General Motors Pontiac Motor Division for twenty years, and fulfilled a life long dream to go into business for himself. He founded Miller Pontiac Cadillac on August 25, 1955.
In 1978, C. Gordon retired and his son, Ronald B. Miller followed in his father’s footsteps becoming Dealer Principal that same year. Ron had worked in the dealership since its grand opening in 1955 and was prepared to carry forward his father’s commitment to his employees and customers. For thirty years, Ron was dedicated to the dealership and proud to be associated with General Motors and its products. He served the Rahway community through various groups and associations and was honored to be Chairman of the Board of the New Jersey Automobile Dealers Association. Through his work and service, Ron made a great many friends and appreciated the thousands of loyal customers who supported his family’s business year after year. The dealership continued to prosper through the often turbulent economic times of the 1980s and 1990s and Mr. Miller’s dedication to excellence won the dealership numerous annual awards for customer satisfaction in sales and service.
Then, in 1998, Ron and his family had the opportunity to move their store to a new, state-of-the-art building on Route One North in Woodbridge. The move required the dealership to relinquish its Cadillac franchise, but the business was fortunate to add both Buick and GMC to its long-held Pontiac franchise. In their new building just half mile north of Woodbridge Center Mall, the Millers have been able to offer the convenience of a highway location and all the comforts and amenities of a new facility. However, Mr. Miller’s over-riding priority was to maintain the family atmosphere and low pressure sales environment of their in-town store.
Today, in 2011, Miller Buick GMC is new again. Miller sells two very exciting brands in Buick and GMC. The product is remarkable in its quality and styling and the Millers have never been more proud to represent General Motors’ products. Leading the store is a third generation Miller, Ron’s daughter, Shari Miller Sandidge. Shari became Dealer Principal in 2010 after working alongside her Dad for nearly 10 years. As one of relatively few women dealers, Shari is excited to create a unique environment for Miller customers; a friendly, professional and welcoming environment where both men and women can comfortably shop and be delighted to purchase and service their vehicle.
